dream station

Are you drooling yet?

The ultra-sleek V1 Flagship computer station is without doubt a thing of beauty. Features include 5.1 speaker support (can be upgraded to 7.1), 3 flat screen monitor support (height adjustable), dual stage paint (you decide the colors), 11 vinyl-wrapped table tops, 1/4 inch diamond plate treads, manual adjustment cloth automobile sports seat, height-adjustable and pivoting foot rest, padded and pivoting elbow supports, and a lifetime warranty. It’s completely customizable with optional colors, wooden finishes, seats, upholsery, and an optional side station for other computer peripherals such as printers and the like.

I stumbled upon it while looking for a more comfy chair than the one I have right now. Since I decided to quit my office job and work at home, my back has been aching constantly, such that I have to stretch almost every hour to relieve the strain. I’m sure a lot of people who sit in front of the computer all day can relate (gamers? writers? video editors?). So I’m saving up for an executive chair as a gift for myself on my birthday. Ample back and head support, as well as arm rests, are musts. If anyone knows where to get some cheap (2nd hand will do), please tell me. My bugdet is Php3000, but that’s flexible.

Or, if a kind-hearted soul is reading this now, he or she can donate a mere $2600 to my account (plus shipping and handling), and we can take turns trying out this beast. :P

wireless and weary

28 06 2007

Linksys WRT54GCafter 4 long hours of troubleshooting, michael and i were finally able to set up my wireless home network. desktop connection was easy. it was the laptop part that took a while.

whew. and two senior techs at that! funny resolution, too. i wanted to hit myself over the head with a trout when i realized my oversight. sorry, michael! and thanks for the help! :D

if i was on a real call that would take more than half my shift and i’d have to go on a very late lunch. i’m sooo tired but i’m in such a high right now. i even feel like i could go back to being a Resolution Specialist all over again.

uhm… naaah.

anyway, here are the results from www.speedtest.net with the laptop inside my room. the router, a Linksys WRT54GC, is downstairs. note that my brother was downloading mp3s with his desktop while i did this test, which shows how remarkable the router is with dynamic allocation. by the way, i’m subscribed to Bayantel/SkyDSL with 384kbps @ P1200 (that’s internet + phone). not bad, eh?

the only thing to watch out for is it’s reliability which i’ll be monitoring closely the next few weeks. then who knows, i might just write a review about it.

but for now, i surf! :)
